James will be sharing the journey of open source financial services Digital Public Goods (DPGs) and insights from his work with the BMGF on the LevelOne team and the recent launch of OpenG2P in a consortium. *Seminar Details* *Location*: Tuesdays from 12-1pm in 271 CSE2 (The Bill and Melinda Gates Center) *Virtual Attendance*: https://washington.zoom.us/j/93100061611 *Present Bio* James Dailey is a founder of the Mifos.org project, MicroEnergyCredits.com, openG2P.org, fineract.apache.org, ExtoLab.com and Alluvi.al. His work spans payments, health logistics, and banking, especially in developing countries and with open source software. He consults with the World Bank, IFC, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation with a key focus on the development of low cost systems to support broad economic development. He holds a degree in Business Information Systems from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters from the Evan's School of Public Policy. In his work with BMGF he was recently involved with efforts in Pakistan to introduce the RAAST payment system and with the Central Bank of West Africa for their interoperability project. Recently he has given talks on the development of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). He lives in Seattle and serves on non-profit Boards Best, UW Change Seminar Organizers
