IPA is currently in the process of identifying an economist or statistician to lead our PPI development effort. IPA needs to continue to create and update the PPIs, but we also hope to make methodological improvements in doing this and possibly take more of a machine learning approach. How we staff the PPI technical team is a bit fluid. We have posted for an Associate Researcher (this could be full-time or post-doc, http://www.poverty-action.org/job/associate-researcherstatistician-progress-...) but are also considering options to work with researchers outside of IPA more on a consultant basis instead of hiring in-house. The technical lead would have a Research Associate (http://www.poverty-action.org/job/senior-research-associate-research-coordin...) who reported to them and supported their work. If you have suggestions of qualified individuals, or can circulate within your network, I would really appreciate it. We expect that for the right person, this would provide a platform to advance their academic interests as well as allow them to engage in meaningful work improving an important poverty assessment tool. Attached as an example of the tool are the scorecard/look-up tables and design memo that thoroughly documents the methodology and accuracy of the tool (for Ghana). Thanks!
