IEEE GHTC 2026: Registration is open!

 

Registration is now open for the 2026 IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference (GHTC), taking place October 7-10 at the University of Colorado Boulder. GHTC is an IEEE flagship conference focused on research and innovations that address pressing global sustainability and humanitarian challenges.

 

 

Conference program highlights include:

  • 80+ technical presentations featuring peer-reviewed research and case studies
  • 10+ workshops and special sessions
  • Two featured keynotes by Kentaro Toyama (University of Michigan) and Abigail Abe Hamwada (Design without Borders Africa)
  • Banquet hosted at the Club Level of Folsom Field (CU Boulder’s football stadium)
  • Ample networking opportunities to engage with a vibrant community dedicated to sustainable development and humanitarian engineering!

 

GHTC thematic areas include:

  • Technology themes: Addressing engineering and innovation in healthcare, education, connectivity, water, food, energy, climate resilience, and disaster mitigation, preparedness, and recovery.
  • Research & practice themes: Empirical studies on the methods, processes, and pedagogies that shape humanitarian engineering, including co-design, community partnerships, broader impacts of engineering, and education.
