Our largest program is funded by the Gates Foundation, working with coffee farmers' cooperatives in Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda and Ethiopia. We are using IT to help us monitor, manage and evaluate the program. e.g.
- Pentaho BI for reporting
- Orbeon XForms for web based data entry
- We may implement offline data gathering solution using smart phones.
We've got more potential software development on our hands that we have the resources to do ourselves (facilitating requirements gathering, expanding our data model / data gathered, new reports and dashboards. New data entry channels etc). Technoserve has an volunteer program, covering travel, accommodation and a local living allowance. We could also engage a modestly paid consultant if we found the right person to help us.
Does anyone have any leads for where I might find people who would be interested in coming to East Africa for 3-6 months to help us out?
