The Design Technology Lab (DTL) at NYU Abu Dhabi is taking applications for a PhD in Computer Science with an emphasis on ICTD.

Successful applicants to the program are expected to have a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field and should have an outstanding academic record. Previous research experience and other technical accomplishments, as evidenced by publications, software, and letters of reference, are also important criteria. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply by December 15, 2014, though later applications may be considered.

NYUAD PhD fellowships come with the following benefits:

• NYU PhD diploma upon graduation
• US graduate student status while a PhD candidate (valid I-20) and OPT/CPT opportunities
• One year of coursework in New York and three years of research at DTL in NYU Abu Dhabi
• Financial package including tuition, fees, $30,000 USD annual salary, home travel allowance and health insurance provided throughout PhD
• Free on-campus housing (studio apartment) while in Abu Dhabi; additional housing allowance while in New York
• Close proximity to field sites in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia for field work
