Reminder: Deadline for proposals to DIRSI's young researcher
competition is 16 November
The Regional Dialogue on the Information Society, known by its Spanish
acronym DIRSI, launched its third round of young researcher fellowships
on 23 September.
The deadline for presenting proposals to the Amy Mahan Young
Researcher
Fellowships in ICT Inclusion Policies is 16 November 2009.
Young researchers (born in 1974 or later) living and conducting
academic activities in Latin America are invited to submit applications
for three fellowships of US$6,000 each to
support
research within the DIRSIs current themes: Bandwidth for All, Mobile
Opportunities 2.0 and New Indicators on
ICT
Access and Use..
Final reports must be completed by 3 May 2010. Research proposals and
final reports can be presented in Spanish, English or Portuguese.

What is DIRSI?
Founded in
2006, DIRSI is a network of professionals and academic
institutions that seeks to create knowledge to support policymaking
that promotes effective participation of poor and marginalized
communities of Latin America and the Caribbean in the Information
Society. DIRSI's publications include the groundbreaking studies Digital
Poverty: Perspectives from Latin America and the Caribbean and Mobile Opportunities: Poverty and
telephony access in Latin America and the Caribbean.
DIRSI is administered by the Instituto de
Estudios Peruanos –IEP–
Peru's most established social sciences research centre and receives
the financial support of the International Development Research Centre
–IDRC– and the Canadian International Development Agency.
